TRENTON,
NJ (February 24, 2009) – The ECHL's Trenton Devils have announced that
defenseman Matt Cohen has been recalled to the American Hockey League's Lowell
Devils. The announcement was made by
Lowell and Trenton Devils' General Manager Chris Lamoriello.
A native
of New York City, Cohen was selected to play in last month's ECHL All-Star
Game. The graduate of Yale University is fourth among ECHL defensemen in
scoring with 36 points (11g, 25a). He
leads ECHL defensemen with 10 power play goals.
This will
be the second stint in Lowell for Cohen, who notched 22 points (5g, 17a) while
playing in all 72 games in his first full season of professional hockey with
Trenton in 2007-08. After the conclusion of Trenton's season, Cohen finished
off his year in Lowell, playing in three games.
The Devils return to action tonight
against the Wheeling Nailers, with the puck drop scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
