trentondevils.com -- The
ECHL's Trenton Devils today announced their schedule for the 2009-10 regular
season.
Out of the 36 home games, the
Devils will play 26 of them on the weekends: eight Fridays, 10 Saturdays, and eight
Sundays. Home games are scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m. on Mondays through
Saturdays and 4:00 p.m. on most Sundays.
The Devils move into the
newly-formed East Division of the American Conference with the Elmira Jackals,
Johnstown Chiefs, and Reading Royals.
The season starts with the home
opener on Saturday, October 17 against the Kalamazoo Wings, one of two new
members to the ECHL. The Devils will welcome the Toledo Walleye to Trenton with
a pair of games in the month of March.
The Devils' most common opponents
will be Reading and Elmira, who they will play 14 times each. The Jackals'
first trip to Trenton will be for back-to-back games November 7-8, while the
Royals make the short trip to New Jersey for the first time on Saturday, November
14.
The defending Kelly Cup champion
South Carolina Stingrays, coached by former Trenton Titan Cail MacLean, will
come to Trenton for their only visit on Wednesday, November 11. The Devils were
the only team who did not lose to South Carolina last season, including an
exciting 9-7 win on Scott Bertoli Night.
The longest homestand of the
season takes place in early February, with four games on the docket. Among the
contests is a special 1:00 p.m. start against the Jackals on February 7, which
is Super Bowl Sunday.
