Newark, NJ - The New Jersey Devils have reassigned forward Kevin Cormier from the Lowell Devils of the AHL to the Trenton Devils of the ECHL. In a corresponding move, forward Myles Stoesz has been reassigned from Trenton to Lowell. The announcement was made by Lowell and Trenton Devils' General Manger Chris Lamoriello.

Cormier, 23, has recorded 17 penalty minutes in nine games this season for Lowell. Acquired by trade prior to the 2008-09 season, the Moncton, NB native Cormier recorded 94 penalty minutes and four points (2g, 2a) in 29 games with the Trenton Devils last year. A left-handed shooter, Cormier stands six feet, three inches, weighs 235 pounds and turns 24 January 27. He is the older brother of New Jersey Devils 2008 second-round draft choice Patrice Cormier.

Selected 168th overall in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft by the Phoenix Coyotes, Cormier became the first player from the MJAHL to be drafted since 1982. Skating for his hometown Moncton Gagnon Beavers in 2003-04, Cormier amassed 235 penalty minutes in 42 games. He would post the same total over the course of 60 games the following year with the Halifax Mooseheads, leading the QMJHL in minutes served. His strongest offensive season came in 2005-06 for Halifax, netting 27 points (16g, 11a) in 69 games. Prior to joining the Devils, Cormier played 29 games for the 2007-08 CHL Champion Arizona Sundogs.

Stoesz, 22, leads the ECHL with 97 penalty minutes, also contributing six points (4g, 2a) in 19 games this season for Trenton. Acquired by trade in March, 2009, the Steinbach, MN native recorded 30 penalty minutes in 10 games with the Trenton Devils last year. As a member of Atlanta's ECHL affiliate in Gwinnett, Stoesz finished the 2007-08 season ranked first in the league with 291 penalty minutes. A right handed shooter, Stoesz stands six-foot-one, weighs 210 pounds, and turns 23 February 15.

Selected 207th overall in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft by the Atlanta Thrashers, Stoesz spent four years in the WHL, where he finished second in the league in penalty minutes for three years in a row. Stoesz posted his highest WHL total of 260 penalty minutes during the 2005-06 season. His strongest offensive season came in 2004-05 for Spokane, netting nine points (1g, 8a) in 67 games.
